How We Score Ad Servers

Seven criteria, each with a fixed weight and a written rule. Cost counts most. The weighted average is the overall score, and the overall score sets the order.

Why cost carries the most weight

When publishers shop for an ad server, the first question is nearly always what it will cost, and the second is how long it takes to get running. Our weights follow those questions. A platform with a strong feature list still loses points if you cannot find out what it costs without a sales call.

Where the facts come from

We do not run lab tests. Each score is our reading of that public information against the rule above, and every review shows the reason behind each score.

Shortlists and ties

Shortlists rank ad servers for one buyer need. When two serve that need equally well they share a place, marked "tie".

Keeping it current

We re-check scores when products or prices change, and vendors can send corrections through our contact page. Scores were last checked on November 3, 2026.

Who runs this site

Top Ad Servers is published by Best Ad Servers LLC, which is affiliated with AdButler. AdButler is one of the ad servers we score, and it is scored with exactly the same written rules as every other vendor. No vendor pays for its position, and we update scores when products or prices change.
